Huxley C of E Primary School

The Governors of Huxley CE Primary are seeking to welcome an enthusiastic, dedicated teaching assistant to join our small, close-knit team.

There are 2 classes at our tiny school: KS1 and KS2. The post will be to work supporting 2 children in KS2 and 1 child in KS1 in accessing maths and literacy each morning. The role requires an experienced and dedicated practitioner to work with the pupils to ensure they achieve age-related expectations.

The successful candidate will support learning alongside the class teacher. They will demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative, be professional, friendly, have a good sense of humour and have the ability to work and communicate successfully as part of a team. They will also be a highly motivated individual who will ensure the best possible outcomes for the pupils they work with. The successful candidate will need to have a good knowledge of how children learn and possess excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

To gain a much clearer and detailed picture of the role, it is strongly recommended that you contact the school to arrange a visit.   This will also help you to gain a greater understanding of the pupil’s needs and what it is like to work in a tiny school.

This post is temporary in the first instance - until the end of the summer term initially - but this is a real opportunity for someone to be part of our fantastic school community of supportive, hardworking staff, children, governors and parents.

Please contact school for an application form and further details - we would be delighted to provide them for you.

We place the highest priority on keeping our children safe. This appointment will be subject to an enhanced CRB check and references will be taken up.  The holder of the post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.
