The Bridge Short Stay School

Science Teacher (MPS/UPS & SEN)

To start September 2020

At The Bridge Short Stay School we don’t believe a student’s past defines their future, we are looking for an exceptional individual who shares that belief to teach Science at our OFSTED rated ‘good’ Pupil Referral Unit in Ellesmere Port.

The Bridge caters predominantly for students who have been permanently excluded; this role will involve teaching students across KS3 and KS4 including GCSE. The successful candidate would also be expected to contribute to our wider curriculum aimed at offering students breadth of opportunity for both personal and academic development.

Our work at the school is challenging but rewarding, staff have positive relationships with students who have struggled in mainstream schools and change lives on a daily basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a difference and can see a child as more than a grade. We are looking for someone who shares our values, believes in our young people and is able to inspire aspiration in them. In return the successful candidate will join a talented and committed team and will be supported to be the best teacher they can be.

School visits are not possible under current circumstances, but we would welcome informal discussions about the role– please contact the Headteacher on andy.stewart@thebridge.cheshire.sch.uk to arrange. For more information about the school please visit our website at www.thebridge.cheshire.sch.uk

The Bridge Short Stay School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.

Closing date 12pm Thursday 21st May 2020
