SEN Teacher (MPS/UPS & SEN)

To start September 2020

At The Bridge Short Stay School we don’t believe a student’s past defines their future, we are looking for an exceptional individual who shares that belief to lead the teaching of a group who have previously struggled in a mainstream environment.

The Bridge caters predominantly for students who have been permanently excluded; this is a new role, working largely with students in KS3 who are likely to undergo assessment for an EHCP. Many have struggled with the transition from KS2 to secondary school and would benefit from a more primary based approach to learning. We’d be equally pleased to hear from Primary trained teachers as well as those from a variety of subject backgrounds in Secondary. This is an ideal post for someone who aspires to the role of SENDCo and the successful candidate will have opportunity to work closely with our SENDCo.

Our work at the school is challenging but rewarding, staff have positive relationships with students who have struggled in mainstream schools and change lives on a daily basis. This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a difference and can see a child as more than a grade. We are looking for someone who shares our values, believes in our young people and is able to inspire aspiration in them. In return the successful candidate will join a talented and committed team and will be supported to be the best teacher they can be.
