The Bridge Short Stay School

Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Grade 7: £24 313 – £26 999 FTE (Pro Rata, Term Time Only)

To start September 2020

At The Bridge Short Stay School we don’t believe a student’s past defines their future, we are looking for a child centred HLTA who is supportive of our mission to change the lives of students who have previously been permanently excluded.

The Bridge caters for students who have struggled in mainstream education; this is a new role, due to increasing numbers in the school. The successful candidate will lead on the induction and assessment of new students to support the development of a personalised plan to meet the needs of individuals and will contribute to the planning and delivery of targeted interventions that address specific needs.

Our work at the school is challenging but rewarding, staff have positive relationships with students who have struggled in mainstream schools and work hard to provide the opportunities they need. This is a great post for someone who is able to see the potential in young people and has a real passion for supporting them. The successful candidate will join a team of committed & like-minded individuals, dedicated to creating a positive future for our young people.

School visits are not possible under current circumstances, but we would welcome informal discussions about the role– please contact the Headteacher on andy.stewart@thebridge.cheshire.sch.uk to arrange. For more information about the school please visit our website at www.thebridge.cheshire.sch.uk

This role is based on our Ellesmere Port Site but may involve travel to our Northwich site or community venues to work with students or for training and meeting purposes

The Bridge Short Stay School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.
