Resourced Provision SEN Teaching Assistant

Frodsham Weaver Vale Primary School are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has recent and relevant experience of working with children with a broad range of SEN. The ideal candidate will be pro-active, have high expectations and the ability to work flexibly.

You will be working under the direct supervision of the Resourced Provision lead teacher and the school SENDCo. The role will include supporting and developing focussed learning activities tailored to the needs of the seven children within the provision. You will also contribute to the planning and the sourcing and making of resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning within the provision.

You will be required to supervise the activities of the individual, as well as groups of pupils both in the provision base and within their mainstream classroom. This will include transition times during the day around school, to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical and emotional development in accordance with the school's behaviour policy.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills. They will need specific experience of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder (ADHD) and an understanding of sensory needs, knowledge of social and emotional strategies would be of huge benefit. A firm but supportive approach is required, with the intuition to know when to provide independence versus support. First aid and Team Teach qualified would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

A key part of the role is to liaise with parents and outside agencies in conjunction with the teaching staff to ensure effective communication concerning the pupils' development and wellbeing.
